Meanwhile in Malaysia, first-time film producer Datuk Dr Che Rozmey Che Din's hopes of achieving a record breaking RM40 million at the box office with "2 Alam" seems bleak as it raked in less than RM100,000 on opening day last Friday, according to the New Straits Times.
In relation to the film's box office response, Mr Lee Kong Yew, cinema manager of GSC Mid Valley disclosed that "ticket sales for '2 Alam' have not been good" at the location and was even reported to be playing at almost empty halls for the first two slots on opening day.
The film about a transvestite who commits suicide will hit Singapore screens in January 2011 under distributor Golden Village Pictures.
